- Does the candidate answer hard questions, or dodge them?
- How do they act in press conferences?
Romney's speaking engagements
Mitt Romney is obviously a good speaker from what everyone has witnessed while watching him in debates and interviews, but the problem with him is he sometimes makes careless comments that come off as rude, or nonchalant. For example, he said recently "I do not care much about the very poor". Many people were confused and annoyed with the fact that he let himself say something so selfish, but he was quick to repair this situation with changing his statement around after he heard about all the comments about it on Twitter. It was just a foolish statement expressed in an inappropriate way. That comment in particular definitely helped the Democrats on their line of attack against Romney. Republicans are also starting to fear that he won't be able to relate to any Americans at all who are weening their wills to provide for themselves. People were just frustrated with Mitt; he needs to be careful of what he lets out of his mouth. It is sad to say that he has made many comments like that before and it surely isn't supporting or helping his presidential campaign. Lastly, in a recent debate Romney seems to take up as much time as he can talking, and very clearly doesn't like being interrupted when telling his people about his views and plans for the future.
How does Romney handle press conferences
When he is being criticized in press confrences he looks at the speaker in the eye, takes it in, and then makes his reply. He is serious and can get to the point, and respects everyone speaking- Lauralys
Criticisms of Romney by the competition
When Newt Gingrich brought up Mitt's conservativeness and job losses in his state Massachusetts he admitted to those losses, but then said he was starting to create more jobs in Massachusetts than Obama has for the whole entire unites States. When Rick Santorum brought up Romney not bailing out because he was not running for governor in Massachusetts again Romney replied he made the changes he wanted for his state and that is all he wanted to do. When asked about his failed attempts of running for president he said it is now being used as a learning experience. He answered every question asked in the debate with confidence and power. He does not go off topic when asked a question. He answers it weather the people will like it or not. -Lauralys
